Build from the plan
Mark top and bottom plates together so stud positions stay aligned. Use the spacing and lumber dimensions specified for the design.
Frame openings deliberately
Doors and windows interrupt the normal stud layout. Their rough openings need to match the selected units and the framing details in the plan.
Raise and brace the walls
Wall sections need temporary support while they are being positioned and connected. Check that walls are plumb before permanent sheathing and roof work lock the structure together.
Connect the corners
Corner details affect both strength and the interior surface available for fastening wall finishes. Follow the plan rather than improvising a corner assembly.
