Gable roof
A gable roof has two sloping sides that meet at a ridge. It is a familiar shape and works with many storage and workshop designs.
Gambrel roof
A gambrel roof uses two slopes on each side. The shape is often associated with barns and can create more usable volume high in the shed.
Lean to roof
A lean to roof has a single slope. Its simple profile works well for modern designs and sheds placed near another structure, subject to required clearances.
Hip roof
A hip roof slopes on multiple sides. It creates a different look and framing pattern than a basic gable design.
