Foundation materials
Your list starts with the chosen foundation. Depending on the design and site, that may involve compacted aggregate, concrete, blocks, skids or other approved components.
Floor system
Typical floor materials can include treated framing lumber, structural panels and appropriate fasteners. The design determines sizes, spacing and quantities.
Wall framing and sheathing
Wall assemblies commonly need framing lumber, headers around openings, structural sheathing or panel siding, and fasteners suited to the materials.
Roof materials
Plan for the roof structure, roof sheathing, underlayment, flashing, drip edge and the final roofing material specified by your design.
Doors, windows and trim
These pieces are easy to underestimate. Include hardware, hinges, latches, trim, sealants and any flashing required by the products you choose.
Use the plan for quantities
